All YouTube Premium customers on iOS, including those in India, are now able to use the much-anticipated Picture-in-Picture feature. "Picture-in-Picture (PiP) allows users who browse the Web on their mobile device outside the YouTube application to see YouTube videos in a small micro player. A YouTube Premium representative on iOS says, "We're beginning to develop PiP for Youtube Premium members."

Although the new experience is being developed for iOS users around the world, 9to5 Google noted Google has started testing the features of Premium customers. YouTube Premium customers in India, as well as their global counterparts, are currently undergoing testing, according to YouTube.

How to use YouTube Picture-in-Picture on iOS

The image-in-image feature is on YouTube for Android for many years now. 2018 saw a supported version of PiP playback for Android Users in the USA who have Android Oreo or higher and did not have a premium member.
