Samsung's smartwatches Galaxy series has been wearing all the wearable goals of the firm. Recent versions all run Samsung's proprietary Tizen operating system, which provides greater performance and a more intuitive interface in many areas than Google's Wear operating system. Samsung now has a partnership with Google, combining its wearable knowledge and its broad reach, as weird as this could appear. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 series is the first intelligent smartwatches to be run. Dubbed 'wearOs by Samsung,' this is the direction both titans take jointly. Will the Galaxy Watch 4 series bring its predecessors' legacy forward?

Here are my first observations, I got my hands on a Galaxy Watch 4 Classical.

pricing of Galaxy Watch 4 series in India

The series Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 is made up of the Galaxy Watch 4 and the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. The pricing of the 40mm Bluetooth-only Galaxy Watch 4 begins at Rs. 23,999, while the LTE-enabled version in India costs Rs. 28,999. In other words, you can upgrade your Bluetooth and LTE model to the 44mm variation priced at Rs. 26,999 and Rs. 31,999.

In the Bluetooth-only version, the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic 42 mm starts with Rs. 31,999 and the LTE version with a price range of Rs. 36,999 in India. For the larger model with Bluetooth and LTE options, you might choose Rs. 34.999 and Rs. 39.999.

Specification of Galaxy Watch 4 series

The wearable selection of Samsung with the Galaxy Watch 4 generation seems to be simplified. The Galaxy Watch 4 appears similar to previous Galaxy Watch Active models and can be referred to as a successor to Galaxy Watch Active 2.). The Galaxy Watch 4 is more like a Galaxy Watch 3 successor. Both the Galaxy Watch 4 and the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic share the same strength but are tailored for target groups that are quite different. It has a case of stainless steel with a revolving bezel, like an ordinary watch. The Galaxy Watch 4 classic appears more premium. On the other hand, the Galaxy Watch 4 is cheaper and contains an aluminum body.

The design immediately reminded me of the former Galaxy Watch 3. I have the Galaxy watch 4 Classical (46mm) with me. Two dial sizes (42mm and 46mm) and two sizes – Bluetooth and LTE – offer the Galaxy Wall 4 Classic. I had the 46mm Bluetooth version only, and my wrist was the correct size. You can choose the 42mm dial size, instead, if you have smaller wrists.

Thanks to the stainless steel body and the top rotating bezel, the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic looks superior. It sports a Super AMOLED screen of 1.4 inches which is somewhat sinking in the lizard. Corning Gorilla Glass DX should not be scratched because it is placed and used in the shallow. On the right, there are two physical buttons that can be used to browse the user interface. Taken through the menus and apps, the rotating bezel and swiping motions are also used.

I thought it was a perfect weight for the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. It weighs around 52g without straps. The watch comes with a high-level fluoroelastomer strap that did not make my skin irritated. It has fast-release pins that should make it a one-minute task to swap. At the base of the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, the sensor may detect a heart rate and the SpO2 levels of the Samsung BioActive. The watch is used for measuring stress and for computing the structure of the body. The Galaxy Watch 4 Active battery package and load wirelessly in a 361mAh battery.

The Exynos W920 dual-core CPU clocked with 1,18GHz powers the Galaxy Watch 4 series. It has a RAM of 1.5GB and a storage of 16GB. Bluetooth 5, Wi-Fi, NFC dual-band, and four satellite navigation systems are supported. The Classic Watch 4 has a water resistance rating IP68 of up to 5ATM.

This software contains several significant modifications in comparison to earlier models with this watch. Samsung owns Tizen OS, which is running WearOS by Samsung, and this new wearable. Finally, you get Google Apps and a Play store for downloads on Samsung wearables. With Samsung-Google collaboration, Tizen OS only offered limited assistance for app developers. Unfortunately with the Galaxy Watch 4, I couldn't find Google Assistant, however, Bixby was present.

The interface of the Galaxy Watch 4 series

I've found a simple, intuitive One UI Watch 3.0 interface. It is far more refined than the experience I've tested on wearOs, like the Oppo Watch lately. Surprisingly, iOS support for the series 4 Galaxy Watch is not available, and only Android 6.0 or later can match these devices (with Google Mobile Services). Instead of using the normal Google WearOS app, you will require the Galaxy Wearable application to match your watch with a smartphone. It is intriguing to see whether this is going to happen with additional WearOS powered products.

Verdict of the Galaxy Watch 4 series

It has managed to make a nice impression in my short time using the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. The quality and characteristics I appreciate are robust builds. Samsung's UI is very well polished on the watch and is quite easy to use. Without iPhone support, this apple has lost on a potential sector of the market, at least not yet, but that says, the bigger portion of the market of smartphones is Android-based and no Android-compatible wearable has been as capable as the current Apple Watch to date.
