High-end capabilities like GPS tracking on costly smartwatches and fitness trackers aren't unusual; in fact, they're expected. This is a must-have feature for fitness enthusiasts since it enables exact distance, pace, and location statistics throughout workouts. Many people prefer to post their fitness maps on social media as well. Budget smartwatches, on the other hand, are frequently lacking in premium capabilities like these, relying instead on basic hardware like a pedometer to detect activity and then estimate distance traveled.

Price of the Realme Watch 2 Pro

Realme's latest wristwatch, the Realme Watch 2 Pro, is one of the cheapest GPS-enabled smartwatches on the market. The Watch 2 Pro is priced at Rs. 4,999 and features a 1.75-inch color touch screen as well as heart rate and SpO2 monitoring. It also comes with over 100 watch faces to help you personalize the look of your gadget. Is this the greatest smartwatch for the money on the market right now? Learn more in this review.

Design of the Realme Watch 2 Pro

The Realme Watch 2 Pro's 1.75-inch rectangular screen is curved at the corners. The chin of the screen is slightly thicker than the rest of the bezels. The watch's shell is entirely constructed of plastic and has a beautiful gleam to it.

A single physical button on the right side controls power and standby, as well as serves as a back button while navigating around the watch interface. To wake it up, you can perform a lift-to-wake gesture, click the button, or tap the screen once. Space Grey and Metallic Silver are the two color options for the Realme Watch 2 Pro. The watch shell, as well as the provided strap, are unique. This wearable is compatible with standard 22mm watch bands.

The bottom of the watch features sensors that measure heart rate and oxygen levels, as well as charging contact points. The watch was quite comfortable to wear for long periods of time. I could wear it all day without worrying about getting it wet because it was dust and water-resistant to IP68.

The Realme Watch 2 Pro boasts a 1.75-inch 320x285-pixel display with a refresh rate of 30 frames per second and a peak brightness of 600 nits. The screen is noticeably sharper than any of the other budget smartwatches I've previously evaluated; text, animations, and watch faces are all crisp and clear. The device is 40g with the strap, has a 390mAh battery, and connects through Bluetooth 5.

The Realme Watch 2 Pro charges similarly to any other inexpensive wristwatch. The bundled magnetic charger is designed in the shape of a circular, weighty 'dock,' and it stays in place quite securely. A USB Type-A plug on the other end connects to most adapters or USB ports.

Software, interface, and app for the Realme Watch 2 Pro

With changeable watch faces, a notification shade, an app drawer, a quick settings shade, and a quick overview of fitness information for the day, Realme's UI and UX for the Watch 2 Pro are about as easy as it gets for a smartwatch. Taps and swipes can be used to browse through all of this, with the right-hand button being used to go back a step or put the device on standby from the home screen. Once you've gotten used to where everything is, it's really simple to use.

Depending on the watch face you choose, the screen will display information or include tappable areas that will activate apps or menus. On the Realme Watch 2 Pro, you can have a total of seven watch faces (four of which are fixed and three of which are changeable) and flip between them directly from the device. The notification shade displays short previews of notifications, while the quick settings panel allows you to adjust brightness, power saver mode, and wrist recognition, among other things.

The smartwatch comes with a few apps and tools that cover most of the essential tasks, including activity, sleep, and workout tracking, heart rate, and SpO2 monitoring, alarms, weather, a stopwatch and timer, and smartphone audio and camera controls. Realme Link allows you to control compatible smart appliances from your watch, which I found to be really convenient. Additional apps cannot be installed on the Realme Watch 2 Pro.

The Realme Watch 2 Pro links to a smartphone using the Realme Link app, which is compatible with both Android and iOS devices. Other Realme and Dizo devices, such as wireless earphones and smart appliances, are compatible with this app. It allows you to customize numerous settings on the watch, as well as see fitness data and upgrade the software.

You can also use the app to download new watch faces for your Realme Watch 2 Pro, as well as choose which apps you wish to receive notifications from on the watch. While you can see details about your exercises in the app and on the smartwatch, you won't be able to see any maps of the routes you've taken. Overall, the software is clean, simple to use, and gets the job done.

Performance and battery life of the Realme Watch 2 Pro

Although Realme touts GPS tracking as the Watch 2 Pro's differentiator, I believe the display deserves to be emphasized as the device's most important feature. It has a sharp, detailed, and bright screen that makes other rival smartwatches in the cheap segment look average. Text, in particular, is easy to read even at a glance, taking advantage of all those pixels.

On the Realme Watch 2 Pro, there is a good number of watch faces to pick from, including some artistic and colorful designs. These might be appropriate for some circumstances, but for regular use, I prefer to use one of the defaults or data-heavy watch faces.

The pedometer is used to count steps in activity tracking, but exercises can also employ GPS to more accurately estimate distance and pace. When compared to an Apple Watch Series 5, tracking was mostly accurate, providing significantly better data for outside workouts like walking and jogging. However, when compared to my manual measurements, the step tracking was a little wrong.

When I personally counted 1,000 steps, the Realme Watch 2 Pro counted 1,045 steps, indicating a 4.5 percent error margin. When compared to the Apple Watch, the Watch 2 Pro registered roughly 5,800 steps after a stroll, while the Apple Watch tallied 5,500, implying a 5.5 percent error margin across that larger distance. This isn't horrible, but it's more than the 3 percent reasonable error margin we've observed on several low-cost fitness trackers.

The Realme Watch 2 Pro's heart rate and SpO2 tracking are adequate, providing reliable readings when compared to a normal pulse oximeter. The Watch 2 Pro did occasionally display unusually low readings, however, this was usually resolved within seconds.

Sleep monitoring is also fairly precise, and the Realme Watch 2 Pro's features and applications performed admirably during my time with it. The guided breathing app uses vibrations to help you meditate for a set length of time, while other functions like the camera shutter and music remote are also beneficial. I loved that Realme Link was supported because it allowed me to control and access connected devices directly from the watch.

The Realme Watch 2 Pro has excellent battery life. The device's 390mAh battery lasted me around eight days on a single charge with normal use, and I believe that lighter use of the GPS capability may extend that for at least another couple of days. The item was easy to charge and took only a few minutes.

Verdict of the Realme Watch 2 Pro

The Realme Watch 2 Pro isn't the most advanced or attractive model, but it's one of the better options available for under Rs. 5,000. Although the accuracy of the step monitoring is lacking, this smartwatch compensates with capabilities such as GPS, heart rate and SpO2 tracking, and more. Furthermore, the superb display and stable connection with a smartphone make this a good wrist-top notification second screen.

The competition in the cheap smartwatch sector is fierce, but the Realme Watch 2 Pro stands out because of its excellent display, functionality, and low price. If you're looking for a fitness-focused device under Rs. 5,000, the Realme Watch 2 Pro is a great option.
